About the event
There is always cause for celebration, but especially now. See this concert as a bonus sneak peak for Ellister's master of music exam that will take place in Amsterdam on 16 May. In Pianino we play twice as long as the exam and in our own city, so 3 times as much fun!
TrioSpeaking of 3: the drumless guitar trio has never really been gone. It is obvious to think of Chet Baker in the first instance with this line-up, but with heavyweights Gijs Idema and Jos Machtel anything is possible. Expect a fresh mix of personal favorites from these three, from standard to Strayhorn.

Inspired by the timbre and versatility of the orchestral instruments, she decided to write a piece for flugelhorn, clarinet, bassoon and 2 cellos.
"It's like having two sections at your disposal, with a possible bass function on either side, but where everyone can also interpret a beautiful lyrical melody." says Ellister about this occupation.
Most musicians studied together at the Royal Conservatoire in the 1990s. But the study in Amsterdam last year has also resulted in new musical friendships. So a blend here too. What to call the style? Quirky third stream, or just jazz with influences, judge for yourself.
